Printed Wrap
Dress: BCBGMAXAXRIA // Shoes: Target // Purse: Ted Baker (similar) // Sunnies: Jessica Simpson
I think I've been on a dress rampage lately. After bundling up on all of those chilly days, it's time to break out and get into breezy clothes. I talked a little about the classic shirt dress here last week, but today I wanted to share another great option that's just as easy to throw together - the wrap dress. This is such a flattering option for many body types since it slims and defines the waistline. I love how this one has a contrasting print for trim.
If you buy a wrap in a lightweight material, it can easily double for the beach, pool or pretty much any water activity. Today I paired it with simple striped flats, but it would be really easy to throw on a pair of sandals and then transition it to dinner with a simple pair of heels. Did I mention it doesn't wrinkle easily? What, what?! So, it makes a perfect travel option. Also, it's totally work appropriate - yep that's a dress for casual, beach, travel, work and a date? That's some serious return-on-investment if you ask me.
Aren't these azaleas beautiful? They are in full bloom right now and I'm soaking up as much sunlight as I can on my weekends! Texas is beautiful in the spring and I just noticed the bluebonnets are already popping up. If you didn't know, the Texas Bluebonnet is the state flower and blooms for a few weeks during March and into the early part of April. It's a wildflower and you are not allowed to cut the grass if they are in bloom. Kinda funny huh?
Other flowers that are starting to bloom are magnolias and dogwood. The city has sprinkles of color happening all around. It was so beautiful to see as I walked in the Race Against Violence this morning. I am a big believer in supporting local charity and violence is one of the toughest things that happens in homes, friends, and on the street. It was a perfect morning to knock out a 5k. I'd love to hear about any other fantastic marathons that are coming up!
After getting to explore (and getting a haircut), I headed over for a cortada and brunch at Revival Market. It's such a sweet little spot and they have a pretty impressive breakfast menu. If you are over in The Heights - I highly recommend! It's super tasty and a nice place to sit outside.
