Blue Bow Back
Dress: Make Me Chic // Tights: Hue // Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad
I've been spending so much time traveling this past year, I've created a habit of unpacking and repacking. This past weekend I spent time in the Windy City. I have to say, there's not enough time in a single weekend to explore all of Chicago. From the amazing food to things to do... a few days just wasn't enough. I'd like to spend time this Summer revisiting the city to explore more. The beaches were really pretty and I can only imagine the fun festivals they put on during the warmer months.
Despite it being the middle of February, most of the time it was actually pretty warm for the weather. I wore dresses and skirts with tights most of the weekend. I ordered this blue and white bow back dress from one of my new favorite online stores. I found it on Pinterest when I was looking for gifts for Christmas and saw they were running a Winter sale right after the New Year. I grabbed a few adorable dresses including the one I'm wearing and this one along with this one which I can't wait to show you guys.
Layering lightweight dresses over tights and a pair of ballet flats is great for traveling. It makes it really easy to pack since the items don't take up a lot of room. It's also really comfortable to have loose flowy dresses to walk around the city. I wear ballet flats often when I travel because they are easy to transition from day to night. I love the blue and white striped fabric of this dress. I'll definitely wear it into the next two seasons! And the bow back is really adorable. I found a few similar ones here, here and a pink version here.
One of the places I scouted before coming to Chicago was Stan's Donuts. I tried stopping by there after watching the sunrise early Saturday morning, but they were not open yet. Fast forward to Sunday and they were a perfect stop for a late breakfast. We ended up splitting four donuts (pistachio, nutella, a biscoff pocket and maple long john) and getting a cappuccino. They have two locations to visit in the city. On top of the donuts being absolutely delectable, it was great to be just a few minutes away from the beach for a stroll afterwards.
