Spring is around the corner and it's already feeling that way here in Texas. The azaleas are blooming and will continue for the next few weeks. Houston is a beautiful city during this time of year. It's not sweltering hot and the colors of the flowers soften an otherwise very concrete topography. I took a little stroll to relax for a few minutes and enjoy the beautiful blooms. I pulled out an old favorite pair (seriously old, like had them for a decade old) of 7FAM jeans. They were the first pair of really great jeans I ever purchased and are still in great condition. I love the classic wide-leg trouser shape.

I updated them with a loose peplum shirt (last seen in this post late last Summer) and pops of pink. I'm headed to a soiree this weekend to celebrate a birthday and the whole gathering is themed fuschia. I'm pretty excited about this color and will be posting several upcoming looks with touches of this bright hue - like these adorable tassel earrings.

I took a little break the other day over to try out a new coffee shop and ended up loving their matcha cappucino. Being an avid coffee drinker, (let's be honest here - straight up coffee snob according to some - ah-em! You know who you are!) I look for local places that may offer unique selections. One of my favorite ways to try new things is to ask if they have something special on their menu. I tell them my coffee preferences (non-dairy, more coffee than cream and somewhat sweet) and see what they recommend. Morningstar took me by surprise! They recommended matcha. Apparently, you can take an espresso drink and make it with matcha tea instead of coffee beans. I went for it and really liked the results so much I didn't even add sugar!

They have a delicious assortment of pastries to include a donut derrived from a girl scout cookie flavor of s'mores. I had to try it! It was such a sweet little treat and tough to choose from their other pastries. They also had a dark chocolate old fashioned donut and even a matcha flavored one (which I almost purchased, but thought it might be matcha - overkill!) I've posted in the past some of the places around Houston that have great coffee here, but am going to work on an upcoming post with a few new favorites to share with you guys! If you are local to Houston, I'd love to hear your recommendations. Tweet me or leave a comment and I'll check them out immediately (if not sooner!)
