Easter Sunday
Coat: Elle // Dress: LC Lauren Conrad // Purse: Ted Baker // Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Easter Sunday was always an occasion for my sister and I growing up. I loved going shopping with my Mom to pick out our Easter dress. I remember one year, my Mom let us pick out a pattern and the fabric for her to make us a dress. Mine was the epitome of Spring style... complete with floral printed fabric, stripes and lace trim. It was one of my favorite dresses and I wore it until I was too big. I remember she poured hours into making them perfect. My Mom has a knack for detail and these dresses were given the utmost care.
Fast forward twenty years, and here I am prepping my own daughter for Easter. She is just as girly as I was and we recently found her the sweetest pink sequin and tulle dress. I really love this one, this one and this one if you are in the market for little girl dresses. I think every Christmas and every Easter a child should have the opportunity to get a fancy new dress.
This year, since it's still chilly some days (seriously, we aren't sure if it's going to be hot and humid at 80 degrees or cold and windy at 45 degrees these days)... I decided to pair my periwinkle coat with a subtle sequin flared dress from the LC Lauren Conrad collection. These white pumps seem to go with everything. With Pantone announcing the harmonious colors for the year being serenity and rose quartz, it's made it all that much easier for me to get dressed every day. I happen to love pastels and have quite a bit from previous seasons in both colors. I added a punch of soft pink to keep the look fresh for Easter morning.
For this look I also straightened my hair. It's fun to have curly hair since I get the option of easily wearing it in loose natural waves, glamours curls or completely straight. Since the outfit was color blocked, I thought it would give it a modern feel to go with a bolder pink lip and slick straight locks. A fresh trim on the ends and good products help it stay put all day.
