Rounding up a few of my outfits recently. I love wearing shades of pink and thought it would be fun to share them all in one post with you guys. Here are 10 outfits to inspire you to wear this adorable color!
Read MoreCannot believe I am almost 8 months pregnant at this point! It’s been challenging these past few weeks to get dressed but I found a few pieces from a company called Oyoangle that narrowed it down for simple maternity styling. First up is this long-sleeved mocha body con dress with tons of ruching on the sides to give a good fit but flexibility in the growing bump. I love the way it hugs curves and the fabric is a stretchy cotton that breathes nicely. I am still wearing heels but this would look just as cute with a pair of sneakers or ballet flats. Adding pops of pink like this lipstick, purse, earrings, and hot pink pumps gives an otherwise neutral color a nice punch.
Read MoreWith Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it was time to share a few of my favorite pink things! Pink is hands down my favorite color and I never tire of it. I recently did a color analysis and found out I’m a Spring! That means bright pinks are one of my best colors and let me tell you… I receive the best compliments when I wear it. I put together two classy looks for you in this post and then rounded up all the pink things below for you to shop! Most of the items in the list I own are tried and true. I try to only share things on the blog I’ve worn or would purchase for myself so you know you are getting the best of the best!
Read MoreIt may be February and I’m a minute late to the game but better late than never. As I realize the Earth’s energy is going to keep speeding up I’ve given myself so much more grace for emotions to roll in and out. For the first time in most of my life I am allowing every emotion to surface, be categorized and processed and then released. It hasn’t been an easy process but it is leading me to more vitality.
Read MoreFor today’s look of 30 Days of Outfits, I’m sharing a really cute girls’ night out or date night look. I paired this black lantern sleeve sweetheart neckline top (that I also have in pink see here) with a suede-like mini skirt. Platforms are really in right now and this is such an affordable option. I grabbed them in black but there are so many other colors. I added a feminine clutch and a pair of statement earrings.

Read MoreOh my goodness what a great weekend! Felt like the first weekend in a long time that my daughter and I had the chance to just kick back and spend time home together. On Saturday, I got dolled up and took us out to brunch at 1 pm at The Cookshack which opened recently in College Station. Somewhat limited menu, revolving around chicken and waffles, cute modern atmosphere, and huge portions. You could easily split a portion if you eat on the lighter side. We both got the chicken and waffles and picked our sides out accordingly. I recommend stopping by one of these if you live near one! I wore the cutest pink and mocha ensemble. I paired this roomy baby doll tunic top with a rose-colored coat. I love the combo of rose pink and mocha brown. They compliment one another so much! I paired it with an oversized envelope clutch, over-the-knee boots, and vegan leather pants. I have to say, this pair of leggings has gotten a lot of use this season. They are lined lightly and feel great on chilly days. Hope you all had a great weekend! I’ll be back to share more travel and spring break inspo as the week goes on!
Read MoreA few years ago whenever I looked in the mirror I saw someone who was a failure. I talked to her that way, too. I’d say things like, “You are not getting things right today.” Or “This isn’t your day.”
I began avoiding mirrors. I saw every single flaw in myself every single day. Then, one day a mentor of mine told me to say one positive thing for every negative thing I said.
Looking back, what I was going through was depression. I was so tired every day. I was angry at how life turned out and I felt like everything was my fault. Depression is a lot of work to manage. It’s a level of fatigue that makes taking a shower feel like an Olympic sport. But I kept going. Each time I said something crappy to myself, I stop and say something positive.
Read MoreGosh, I love the ocean. I have to say out of all of the places I lived and visited in my lifetime, I feel most at home when I’m near the ocean. There’s something so soothing and powerful about the water. The waves hold so much force as they push and pull against the grains of sand on the shore. Soft powdery sand that feels like you walking on powdered sugar makes for the best walks. The sunsets are unbelievable and when a storm rolls in…well, as frightening as they are - they also carry so much strength. Today I’m going to share a whole bunch of date ideas, but if you are single… I want you to know it’s okay to do any (or all of these) activities by yourself and show yourself some love. I say that because some of my best memories of my happy place were spent in times of solitude. Valentine’s Day whether you’re in a relationship or not is a day to celebrate love. A day to bring forth self-love and care if you are single. Here’s a word for all the single ladies on valentine’s day if you are looking for some ideas on how to spend your time! Highly recommend some of the tips here! If you are in a couple, I challenge you to take time over the next week to figure out a way to show your partner that you adore them. Brainstorm a few ideas and make the event special. The effort will be worth it!
Read MoreSlip skirts are in my opinion an undervalued item. Most people don’t own one and they are such a versatile piece. You can wear with tights, a sweater, and boots for the Winter and then in Spring/Summer pair with a blouse, shell or even a cami and flat sandals. The key is to find a skirt that skims the body’s shape without being too tight. I picked this one up (on clearance now!) before Christmas at Target in-store. It came in both a deep teal and this rosy shade of pink. I love the way it pairs with brown like this plush coat from Amazon the Drop and a pair of leopard ballet flats. Just adorable! I’ve rounded up several options for silky slip skirts that are under $100 below! Happy Shopping!
Read MoreLet’s talk about creating the life of your dreams. A few years ago I started pinning things on Pinterest for the life I wanted to create. I was at a low point and unhappy with the current state of my everyday affairs. If you’ve ever been through depression, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It was really hard during that time to feel excited about anything. Everything lost its luster and I felt like I couldn’t afford to do anything. I was pinching pennies on the daily and worrying about whether or not basic bills would be paid. During that period of time, I worked really hard to just make it through the day one hour at a time. I began during this period of my life to collect and save ideas of things I wanted in my life. One of those items was a pink Christmas tree.
Read MoreLet me tell you whenever you are in doubt, pull out a little black dress. It will always work! I went out with a few friends on Friday night to Elixir in the La Salle Hotel in Downtown Historic Bryan for drinks (mine choice a virgin Moscow mule) and dinner. I decided to pull out this dress and pair it with punch brights instead of going with my usual color palette. You just can’t go wrong with a little black dress and I love this one under $30! It’s the perfect length to still look flirty without being frumpy. It’s super soft and lightweight for our warm evenings. I grabbed a pair of high heels and my favorite hot pink purse adding on a swipe of matte pink lipstick and dangly earrings. I love this dress so much I grabbed it in a burnt orange you can see in this post! Below is a round-up of some of my favorite picks for little black dresses.
Read MoreWith all the hype of kids going back to school, it’s the perfect time to grab a pair of new sneakers. I try to refresh my athleisure twice a year (usually Spring and Fall) discarding anything worn or that no longer fits and adding in a few new pieces. Recently I bought a few things to include new leggings (same fit as the ones you are seeing in this pic just in a powder light pink), sneakers, and this adorable top from my friends over at Off the Grid. Sneakers are something you want to change out as soon as they start getting worn. Your feet are imperative as vehicles to get around and worn shoes lead to backaches and injuries. I love the look of these old-school New Balance ones. In fact, I had the same pair in college and wore them until they were no longer in good condition.
Read MoreWow! I’m not going to lie as I sit here and write early this morning I cannot believe I’m turning 36 years old in a few hours. Age is funny. I remember a few years back when I lacked purpose in life I felt old and withered. These days I feel like my life has just begun. I feel vibrant, alive, and excited when I rise each morning. I feel like tackling the day is a privilege, not a chore. Over the past two years, so much of my life changed and I’m here for it! I’m living proof that you should not give up on your dreams. Keep going, keep striving, keep doing the baby steps until you reach what you’re after.
Read MoreAre you one of those people that gets a strong sense of direction in the pit of your stomach? Like there’s something inside of you urging you to move one way or another? I am that person. I’ve always had a strong intuition but growing up and into my early adulthood, I didn’t always pay attention to it. In fact, sometimes I would rationalize against it. As I’ve aged (hello 35 almost 36) I’ve learned to trust that inner voice. The inner voice doesn’t steer me wrong. In fact, every time I’ve gone against it I’ve later regretted it. I believe intuition is just as important as what our minds can come up with. I find humans rationalize emotional and illogical choices to justify doing them. I also find that we lead so often with our heads and not our hearts.
Read MoreConfession: I’m a total outdoors gal. You might not expect me to say that being how much I love getting dolled up, but when I’m in nature I’m at home. From sunny days to trips to the beach to aggressive hikes in the mountains… I love it all. When given the option to work out at the gym or outdoors, you’ll find me jogging outside any day. Being that I love time outdoors means a lot of exposure to the sun. With the sun comes wrinkles if I leave my skin unprotected. These days more than ever I find myself being diligent about taking care of my skin and wearing a product with SPF daily is now built into my morning routine.
Read MoreSince I was a little girl books provided me an escape. We moved a lot growing up because my dad was in the military and spent tons of time in transit. I remember being six years old and when we arrived in Germany we had three tv channels that spoke English. Similarly when I was in High School we moved to Asia and there was limited tv. My sister and I grew up playing countless hours of board games and dolls together but when we were exhausted from that I would sneak of to my room and pull out a good book. Hard back binding and crisp pages with printed lettering took me away from the concrete walls of military housing and provided an outlet for my imagination. To this day, whenever I feel lost or down I pull out my favorite books and am instantly transported out of my current environment.
Read MoreAfter having several conversations this past week with various friends I realized there is a common theme in our speech these days - when Covid is over, when the weather gets better, when it’s back to normal… I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said this myself. The truth of the matter is that we don’t know when or if the world is going to go back to normal. In fact, we may need to accept the fact that it may never go back to normal. The world may forever be impacted by these changes and we have to be willing to pivot to the new life. Mental health issues are on the rise and I believe the longer we allow this impact to affect us, the harder its going to get. I believe we can live our best life now, not tomorrow, not next week, not next year - the power is in NOW.
