Simple Spring Stripes

There is not a whole lot better in the world than a long weekend. I hope all of you are enjoying time with you family and friends. When I think of Memorial Day Weekend I think of endless lemonade, camping and backyard BBQs. My family loves to spend the holiday together and I try to see them as often as possible. One of my Mom's dear friends owns a really adorable bed and breakfast in Bryan, TX. The home is over 100 years old and has so much southern charm.
I am a sucker for a good porch swing and the porch on this home wraps around the entire building. It has the most adorable white wicker furniture and painted wood floors. All of the bedrooms are based on parts of scripture and the owners just couldn't be an sweeter. If you are staying in the Aggieland area, it's a perfect place with just a few blocks from Downtown Historic Bryan.
Since the mornings have been cooler here, I pulled out a simple red and white striped top from Who What Wear's collection with Target. It has the softest material and is slightly over sized. I threw it over my slouchy DIY cut off shorts which have seen a lot of wear lately. Adding a simple boater hat and gladiator sandals for a nice Spring/Summer look.
I've been pretty casual this weekend as I spent time with my sister laying out at the pool and just relaxing with my parents andw daughter. It's been really refreshing and a much needed break from the crazy past few months. We are having a BBQ later today and I'll be catching up with an old high school friend!
