Plaid Peplum
Top: Old Navy // Shorts: Abercrombie // Shoes: Qupid // Purse: Isabelle // Sunnies: Kenneth Lane
It’s hot, hot, hot here and I’ve been living in shorts! After all of the rain we’ve had over the past year, it’s been nice to get some sunshine in. With all the heat, a pair of classic white shorts are a necessity. I paired my favorite pair with a lightweight peplum plaid top. It’s simple and comfortable. I like to add pastels with neutrals like white or black. There is something really perfect about the way a soft lavender looks against a crisp white.
I added a pair of embellished sandals for a little sparkle and white purse. A few of us headed for a walk over to one of the best places in town to grab ice cream on National Ice Cream Day at Fat Cat Creamery. I chose the sea salt caramel in a cone. (Ice cream is always better in a cone). Fat Cat Creamery used to be a food truck here in Houston and they were so popular they set up a storefront. They make small batches of ice cream with a selection of classic and seasonal flavors.
Afterwards, we took a nice stroll down TC Jester. Houston is going through some massive parks and recreation construction all over the city. There are tons of places you can walk or bike to like White Oak to Downtown Houston. This 4-mile ride goes from the west side of The Heights all the way to University of Houston Downtown. There are sunflowers all along the ride and you can stop to take pictures of the skyline as you approach the Downtown area.
