Blush Transitions

Tank: Old Navy // Skirt & Hat: Target // Sweater & Flats: LC Lauren Conrad // Purse: French Connection // Sunnies: Betsey Johnson

As Fall is quickly approaching I am starting to transition again. In Texas, we really don't get much of a Fall until October, however I try to add pieces in that feel like Fall-ish. For the first time in eight years it's actually been raining during the month of August. Where we usually have temps soaring over 100 degrees... last night it dropped to 74 while it was still daylight. I've been thinking a lot about how I'll transition out my warmer weather stuff and bring in some of the cool weather pieces. This year I've decided blush is going to remain a main color I wear.

I pulled out my favorite tulle skirt (seen here, here, here, here and here) and pulled on a simple black cotton tank. I like to keep a sweater with me since it's always chilly inside my office - and simple draped it over my shoulders to keep the air conditioning from blasting on me as I worked. I wore my hair tucked into my boater hat and threw on my comfiest scalloped ballet flats.

Blush has been a color I've been drawn to over the past year. I've talk more about it here, but buying things in a palette helps your wardrobe work together better. As I've been looking at the few things I need to replace in my closet for Fall - I've decided that french red is going to be a main player. I just picked up this Patagonia rain jacket and am looking at replacing my running shoes in a soft gray. I'm going to add a few other red items to work with my red striped tee worn a few weeks ago.

Whatever colors work best on you, look for them and build you wardrobe color palette off of them. It makes it so much easier for me to get dressed in the mornings when things can be thrown together with little thoughts or effort.
