Making Valentine's Day Special Without a Lot of Fuss

Dress: Lauren Conrad Runway // Tights: Target // Coat: Elle // Shoes: Cato // Bag: Isabelle

The Houston Waterwall is a sight that every visitor should stop to see. You can head over to uptown park and then stop by the Waterwall for a stroll afterwards. The Waterwall sits right outside of the Williams Tower, which is the tallest building in the city. Parking is accessible and will connect you into the Galleria Mall if you are looking to do some shopping.

This soft pink tulle dress was a dream find! I recently wore it to a really amazing dinner in the North End when I was in Boston a few weeks ago. It has the most beautiful textured skirt and the color was a whimsical pink. I paired it with a pair of black velvet heels (purchased end of season at Cato's but you can find similar options below) and a pair of dotted nude tights. Adding a simple cream coat on top kept me warm throughout the evening as we strolled through the streets of downtown Boston.

Valentine's Day is coming up quickly, so I thought I'd share a few ideas for the evening. I've never been an over-the-top Valentine's Day gal. In fact, I think the best way of showing love to someone you care about is making little things happen daily. However, if you are looking to do a little celebrating here are a few ideas:

Have a picnic at the park

Sunrise or sunset is my favorite time to be outside, but if nothing else you can grab your date for lunch even if it's for half an hour.

Take a stroll and grab a cup of coffee

There's something that really bonds a couple when you just hold hands and walk for a while. Hikes are also a really fun way to get quality time in together. Afterwards, head to a local coffee shop for a quick dessert and something yummy to drink.

Stay in and cook

Dress up or even dress down in your pj's for a night in. Make a multiple course meal and enjoy preparing it together. You can use services like Plated if you aren't much of a cook or search my favorite recipes from Williams Sonoma. Go grocery shopping a day or two in advance and make sure you have everything ready. Don't forget candles, there's something romantic about having your faces lit with dancing fire.
