Lost Mines Peak
Heading to Big Bend National Park has been a dream of mine for years. From the canyons to the river it all looked so majestic. One of the highlights from the trip was getting to climb Lost Mines Peak. Soaring at over 7300 feet it's about a 2.5 hour hike, but well worth the view at the top. It was really interesting to find on the peak an entire are of emerald green granite. I would recommend bringing a ton of water if you are going to make this trip and seal any snacks in something smell proof. Apparently, there are bears in the park and therefore you can't do any picnicing.
For this trip I wore mostly casual items like this pair of pink jeans and I brought two pairs of hiking boots. Since I was only going to be there for a few days and we would be camping it was important to make sure I wore outdoor friendly things. This backpack has been one of my favorite buys over the last year and has great padding. There are also a ton of pockets so you don't have to go digging for smaller items.
