Blue Jean Baby
Texas bluebonnets are in full bloom right now and I had to get out of the house over the weekend to take advantage of this perfect backdrop. For those of you who do not live in Texas, bluebonnet season happens for a few weeks in late March and early April. Fields are covered in indigo blankets of flowers and you’ll find many people perched on the sides of roads snapping away at these lovely little buds. College Station is full of them and I headed over to find a patch to share my favorite pair of jeans with y’all.
Shop Madewell Vintage Fit Jeans
Since places are opening back up I find myself reaching for something besides a house dress or yoga pants. Enter - vintage fit jeans and this pair has been my favorite pair for almost two years now. They have the perfect high waist and relaxed fit without looking frumpy. I love the bottom and how it almost flares out without looking drastic! If you are in need of a good pair of jeans that never go out of style you need Madewell in your life. I love this sustainable company with high quality materials and craftsmanship.
Loading up on basics like long sleeve tees, straw bags, and neutral shoes are perfect for this season. I love soft cotton tops paired with a woven belt for a laid back look. Raffia and woven slides are huge this season and I’m here for it! You can also never go wrong with a straw bag during this time of year. I believe a great wardrobe begins with having a solid foundation. If your basics are in need of a refresh, then it’s time to stock up on a few items to carry you through the next year. I prefer tans and camel tones instead of dark black for neutrals. You can also do white, navy, blush and chocolate brown if black isn’t your color.
It’s also a great time for a little beauty refresh. I’ve been using tinted moisturizer and this soft matte lipstick. A fresh hair cut did wonders for me and I added a few highlights to lighten my locks. I love gathering a few ideas on Pinterest and then once or twice a year going through my drawers to weed out old cosmetics, damaged or over worn clothes. I schedule this on the calendar for March and October and just block out a weekend to go through things. I promise it will do wonders for organization!
