The Long Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend is forever the milestone to kick off summer. Yes, it’s day of honor and rememberance for those who have fought and fallen for our country. It’s also the end of the school year and the start to summer vacation. Iced coffee, sorbet and gelato, days on the lake and a long list of summer bucket activities are now the agenda. So much ahead this summer compared to last year’s lockdown. I’m excited about the upcoming months and changes life will offer as I shed things that no longer serve my life and make room for more creativity, joy and freedom.
As the seasons change I challenge you to look at your own life. What do you want to call forth this summer? What do you want your life to include? What do you no longer want to have a part of it? You only have one. One life will endless possibilities and directions. How do you want your summer to go? Mine with be one of the happiest seasons I’ve had. Something in my heart switched this past month and I just had to let go. Let go of past pain. Let go of suffering. Let go of where I came from and just bask in the light of this season. A season where I’ll be painting, changing things, letting loose and laughing more. What do you need to let go that weighs you down?
As for my summer uniform - here are a few favorites: these new jeans I grabbed from Target. They are really well made, fit like a glove, and perfect for Petites! A Longchamp tote for storing sunscreen and a good book. New sunnies in a mocha brown and woven accessories like this vintage belt and these slides. What’s your summer uniform?
