Can you believe we are over a week into February? With Valentine’s Day just around the corner and spring quickly approaching I’ve been rotating a few pastel and candy-colored pieces into my wardrobe. About this time of year, I start leaning away from the rich tones of the holidays and into a softer palette. Pastel yellows, blues, pink, and greens will be on constant repeat until Easter. I’ve rounded up a bunch of my current favorites at the bottom of this post including this striped shirtdress from Staud, this tiered dress I wore in this post from Oliva Rubin, and this adorable find from Forever 21. No matter what your budget is, there’s something in this list of goodies for you!
My daughter and I headed out last night for a girl’s night complete with a trip to Hey Sugar and then crepes from our favorite place in town called Sweet Paris. We love coming to this little area in town. The candy store carries almost everyone treats you could possibly imagine and they even have gelato! I thought it would make the perfect background to share this colorful striped shirtdress. A classic shirt dress is one of the best pieces you can invest in for Spring. This dress would be perfect for a baby or bridal shower, a daytime wedding, brunch with the girls, and even a picnic. It has just the perfect amount of volume and is cropped to show off whatever shoes you fancy. I decided to pull out my new Sarah Flint perfect 85 pumps in a classic nude. These pumps are made to walk in all day with tons of cushion and a reinforced heel.
I paired the shirt dress with my favorite trench coat I posted about a few weeks ago here and a simple nude envelope clutch. I grabbed this one from TJ Maxx by a brand called J, but here are a few other affordable options here and here. I love the oversize feel of the clutch to hold my necessities and the modern shape pairs perfectly with the pumps, trench coat, and dress. To top things off I added the prettiest heart-shaped earrings (under $5) and a few statement rings. What are your favorite colors to wear right now?
