Weekend Mornings

I reserve the weekend mornings to enjoy the little things like soaking up a good sunrise, getting out for an early walk and quiet moments at a local coffee shop. Being able to just take time to relax and be in the moment is the primary goal during those times. Sometimes I try to turn off the electronics and just sit outside feeling the wind on my face. I think it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle in life and not take time to just be.
This past weekend I spent with my family and awoke at sunrise to go on a little walk. I'll be sharing some of the other activities in later posts that we did this weekend. It's nice to be with people you feel comfortable around during your off times. We work so hard during the week, that the weekends in my life are reserved for relaxing, rest and my relationships. I feel like all three are good for the soul, mind and body.
On the weekends I oftentimes go really casual, especially when our activities involve being outside. I grabbed my red rain boots expecting unreliable weather this weekend and packed them with a few sweaters, a simple dress and two pairs of pants. I try to pack smart when I travel and made it this weekend in a single duffel bag.
We ended up traveling to the countryside to enjoy the wildflowers and I was inspired by the colors of the texas bluebonnets and indian paintbrush. Oftentimes, the outfits I put together and the way I style my home is derived from scenes in nature. My bedding is actually the color of soft peachy pink clouds and curtains the shade of sea glass green. Here, I wore simple americana themed colors and they played perfectly against the outdoor scenery.
Ever since I bought these rain boots, I've realized they are probably my favorite shoe for the outdoors. Being that they are weatherproof, it's a perfect footwear choice for long walks in the countryside. My parents found these red ones for me for Christmas and I have a matching red umbrella to wear with them. I think it's a great idea to carry cute rain gear that's also functional. I also really like to wear my favorite cross body when I am on the go so I can be hands free.
