Winter Pastels
Sweater: Old Navy // Jeans: Jessica Simpson // Top & Loafers: Cato // Sunnies: Elle Tahiari
As much as I am itching to go somewhere cold and snowy, we are having beautiful sunny days here right now. Pastels have been on my mind and in my current palette. I thought it would be a good idea to talk a little about how to wear them all year round today. Long gone are the days where you can only wear white before Labor Day and pastels in the Spring. The more I emmerse myself in developing my style, I realize that my color palette includes pastels and a little pop of red.
Let's start by discussing pastel jeans. These pink jeans have been worn countless times on the blog. When you buy something in a soft blush or even a pale blue, you can wear it with a neutral top to give a reverse effect off the classic jeans and button up combination. Works the same way if you are a t-shirt and jeans gal. Just swap your regular ones for mint, baby blue or pink jeans - then add a white top.
Adding a bold accessory in a darker hue is a way to give your outfit pop. This time, I stayed in a monochromatic scheme by adding red, but you can easily do the same by adding cobalt with a beautiful baby blue. Or, if you prefer turquoise paired with mint. Easy, effortless and anything but dull. You can wear a sweater by draping it over your shoulders casually and it acts almost as an accessory instead of a main piece. Finish it all off with a pair of tassel loafers or ballet flats to keep it looking polished. I'd love to hear what you think about switching out your regular jeans for pastel ones?
