Fourth of July Swimsuit and Outfit Inspo
A couple of weeks my daughter, dog and I packed up a laundry basket full of goodies and headed to the beach for a summer day. We decided to drive to Surfside, TX which is pretty quick from where we live. Under two hours and that’s with stops. If you live in Cypress, Katy, Brookshire, Fulshear or Sugarland I’d recommend looking at that beach instead of driving all the way to Galveston for a day trip. Less traffic, soft sand and you can find a quiet spot once you drive down past where most people congregate. Very important these days with the pandemic and all. I’m a huge proponent of wearing a mask and keeping 6 feet in distance! I also spend most of my time at home, on long walks or in my car. Basically, my own areas I can control :)
Anyhow I figured a Monday would have few people and I could get things kicked off for the kiddo! Oh my gosh!!! It was perfect. I do recommend being careful as we pulled out to head home and was stuck in the sand. Luckily a few ladies were near by and with four gals we got my car out and on it’s way. I am forever grateful to those strangers that afternoon. Okay, now onto Fourth of July Style which is why you guys clicked into reading this post.
I love American holidays. They are so fun! We are a pretty fun culture and despite the turmoil within our country we stand for so many wonderful things. Being a military brat, holidays were pretty important to our family because oftentimes that’s the only time dad had off. We were always seen grilling and having a BBQ. In fact I ended up in the emergency room on Fourth of July due to a slip n slide injury. Yep, some of you remember these. I ended up with a tear in my left abdomen and rushed to the hospital. Anyhow - came back to the party and watched the fireworks. Can’t stop a ten-year at that point. I was determined to party hard at a decade old.
I usually opt for something like a dress or swimsuit option for this holiday. So often it’s nice to wear a one piece with a skirt or shorts pulled over. I also love that I never worry about sweating in a swimsuit. In this hot Texas weather, it’s a fantastic option. My other go to is a flowy dress or tunic. Look for cotton embroidering or a fun print like polka dot, gingham or stars for a whimsical look. Don’t forget a few accessories like slides or star sunglasses.
This swimsuit is a few years old from Aerie - more options similar here. You can also check out 18 items I’ve selected for you (many on Amazon - so there’s plenty of time to order if you do so now!) for under $100. I can’t wait to see all of your Fourth of July pics on social media so make sure you tag them with #holidayheelclicks and I’ll make sure to comment!!
