Pushing the Outdoor Reset Button
We are already two weeks into 2021 and I don’t know about you, but I’ve found time outdoors is time well spent. Last weekend College Station and a large portion of Central and South East Texas experienced a snow storm. It was odd, but welcomed following a bleak week of political events earlier that week. Social media was soon flooded with pictures of snowmen, snow angels, families getting outdoors and kids having snowball fights. It was one of the most refreshing experiences and I have to tell you it was much needed for all of us.
Ever since I spent time abroad in college I realized that an outdoor lifestyle was essential to a positive mindset. Whether it be long hikes in the dessert, camping or just getting daily walks in - all of it is good for the soul. During 2021 I am making it an intention to spend at least an hour outside every single day. Now this comes with a caveat - I better have outdoor gear to withstand rain, soaring hot temperatures of Texas summers and icy Winter days. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites from Backcountry! They are having a big sale right now! I mean BIG sale! Here are a few items I am loving for the upcoming weeks and months:
This pink puffer jacket is on sale for under $56 and would be perfect for this time of year. I love puffer jackets because they keep you warm but are really breathable! I also love this teddy jacket that comes in tan or pink! Another comfy favorite that’s great for layering and on sale. Patagonia continues to make some of my favorite outdoor pieces and this fleece pullover comes in a few different colors is perfect for transitioning from Winter and into the chilly nights of Spring months.
