I've been spending so much time on the road over the past few months taking full advantage of Summer. There is something about the carefree sunny days that gives me a major travel bug. I try to pack light to keep myself from being overwhelmed over the course of travel. I made the mistake years ago to traveling with a bunch of stuff overseas and I was literally weighed down with baggage over the two weeks I was abroad.
One of the easiest ways to carry less is to bring things that are lightweight (if you are going to a warm climate) and one piece. A dress or a romper packs really easily and for hot months, helps me stay pretty cool. In fact, I can easily throw three dresses in my suitcase and it takes up the same amount of space as a single pair of jeans.
Also I try to pack a swimsuit and pair of denim shorts. It makes it really easy to throw a tank top or sweater on over the shorts and I NEVER leave home without a swimsuit. You just never know if you'll need one. I love this cute little gingham one I bought earlier this summer. I found a few more options below if you are looking for something similar.
