Holiday Beauty I Can't Live Without
The holiday season is a time to pull out all of the stops to sparkle and shine. As this year’s season approaches I’ve found I am drawing so much inspiration for the 1930’s. Did you know that during The Great Depression musicals and glamourous Hollywood scenes were used to lift the spirits of those in trying times. When you look at movies made during that era formal gowns made of satin and sequins were everywhere. Was it practical? Absolutely not. Especially when many families were barely able to make ends meet, but it served hope for many. I believe if we stop dreaming we start dying.
When my gal Jaime and I decided to shoot this look at The Stella Hotel, the 1930’s served as our source of inspiration. We aimed to capture old Hollywood glam so that no matter what your current circumstances were, you too could draw inspiration and hope from these photographs. COVID-19, black lives matter and the election have propelled many into a negative mindset. I believe true beauty comes from within. Handling the good times and the bad with grace. Being strong when it feels tough. Helping serve others when times are rough is what gives us all a little bit more hope. With hope, we can get better and be better. I’m going to share some of my favorite holiday beauty items that no matter what your budget is or age - you too can wear or give to a loved ones. Let’s do each other a favor and keep hoping towards a new future!
Black Friday isn’t going anywhere and beauty items are the perfect pick me up! For the next seven weeks, Three Heel Clicks Beauty will launch seven bundles. The first was revealed over the weekend and includes two lip butters and a lip exfoliator. The holiday bundles contain exclusive and limited edition products! They are all non-toxic and cruelty free products made to help repair skin and offer anti-aging components. I love how the lip butters are clear and tinted with Vitamin E. Did you know that Vitamin E helps support the immune system, cell function and skin health? If you are currently experiencing dry, chapped lips using a lip exfoliator made of sugar and shea butter will help slough off dead skin. Then you can follow with a lip butter for a perfectly kissable lip! Since we are spending so much at home these days, having a tinted balm that offers moisturizing qualities seems like a must have!
Another product I use almost daily is the Epic Twisted Mascara. Oh my gosh has this one been a complete game changer! It’s formulated with argan oil, keratin, and biotin. It contains two wands - one for those teeny, tiny hard to reach lashes and then a larger wand to add volume. I’ve tried hundreds of mascaras and this is one of the only ones that doesn’t make my eyes itch. It has unbelievable separation and impact! With all of the face coverings we wear these days show stopping lashes are a must have!
The other product I can’t live without is the Younique TOUCH Spray foundation. It’s super lightweight and has full coverage. I was in disbelief when I first bought this product wondering if it would feel heavy - it absolutely does not! It feels like I’m not wearing any foundation. I apply with short strokes (see this Facebook video) using my favorite kabuki brush. It has a twelve hour wear and I wore in when I went under water in my last post Resurfacing in Life! I have a little bit of acne scarring and I find this is my favorite option for quickly covering on the go.
Each week I’ll be releasing new Holiday Bliss bundles to share with you guys on my beauty site Three Heel Clicks Beauty. You can follow on Facebook too for more updates or to send me a DM! All photos were taken by the beautiful and talented Jaime Salinas - you can contact her here.
