Why I Take Collagen (and You Should, Too.)

Dress: Amazon // Makeup and Collagen: Younique

Up until about six months ago I really didn’t think much about the word collagen. The only time I knew about it was when an MLM gal reached out to me on Facebook or I saw someone with overdone lips. About six months ago a friend of mine reach out and shared with me some of the benefits of collagen. We have similar lifestyles - active, healthy, adventurous, and fitness-oriented. I knew that it was worth a shot to try. Instead of injecting, I opted to grab it in supplement form. Fast forward to last month when Younique announced they are launching a collagen shot! I am so excited! Mine arrived today and you can grab during early release!!

A few reasons why I am currently taking collagen include the same reasons our scientific research that 𝟙𝟘𝟘% of participants (𝗬𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲!) in our study that took our liquid collagen daily for 30 days had better:

  • Clarity to their skin,

  • Increase in barrier function of skin

  • Resulting in increased hydration,

  • More supple (aka firmness & bounce back),

  • Smaller PORES

  • Reduced UV spots

    Resulting in more glow and

  • 75% of people had a reduction in wrinkles!

As we age we our collagen production decreases more and more over the years. Although I have yet to try botox, I do use anti-aging serums and masks to help combat the process. I try to eat a well-balanced diet and drink at least 80 oz of water each day. I notice a huge difference when I do. Lately, I’ve allowed my body to sleep as much as possible and destress. It’s been heavenly to feel refreshed after just a few weeks of treating myself with extra love and care. Since the new year kicked off I’ve been pretty snuggled up at home cooking my own meals and doing my pilates. My goal over the next six weeks is to continue this lifestyle and then start something more aggressive during the Spring. Collagen helps with joint pain and bone loss!

By taking a collagen supplement you will see that it:

  • helps increase blood flow to the heart which increases oxygen flow through the body and that’s beneficial to everything!

  • strengthens vein walls, strengthens blood vessels to maintain elasticity, and keeps up a good blood flow in your body.

  • With plumper, strengthened and more hydrated skin, the veins become less prominent.

I will continue sharing about my collagen journey so please send over questions to threeheelclicksblog@gmail.com! Also, you can subscribe to my newsletter and get updates that way, too!
