Preparing for Baby's Arrival and a Natural Birth

For the past few weeks, I’ve had major baby brain. I’m eight months pregnant and we are counting down to delivery at this point. We’ve elected in this pregnancy to deliver the baby naturally with a midwife instead of a hospital birth. It’s been such a better experience than meeting with an OBGYN. Our midwife has longer conversations with us, explains every single test or procedure, and gives us options. It’s a freedom I did not know was possible! As we prepare this final month I thought I would share a few things that are going to ease the delivery and make the experience the most successful possible.

Holiday Glam

For today’s look, I wore a beautiful cobalt blue Amazon one-shoulder maxi dress which is a total steal. I comes in other colors but this one is on sale for $15. I love how it’s not a maternity dress, but has lots of stretch and room for the bump. I know I’ll be able to wear it at a later point in time. This would also be perfect for a winter wedding if you are attending any this season. I paired it with beautiful Kelly green mules (found an almost identical pair here on Amazon) and gorgeous Emerald green teardrop earrings. One way to make an outfit look upscale is to add a piece of dramatic statement jewelry.

It’s cozy season and I’m here for it. Ever since I found out I was pregnant I’ve been shifting into the comfiest clothes for both day and night time! The Bump needs room and finding items that have an elastic waistband or extra room in the middle has been key for comfort. I rounded up three cozy looks for you to spruce up your loungewear and grab a nightie for those special occasion nights when you just want to feel a little more glam. For today’s look, I paired the cutest blazer and fleece-lined jeans from Luvamia available on Amazon. I threw on a V-neck tank top and my new favorite two-toned pumps that are so ladylike from Elizee’s. Designed with ultimate comfort in mind! I think this heel height is perfect for a workday or luncheon. I finished things off with one of my favorite black purses from Michael Kors complete with gold hardware that matches my Kendra Scott gold filigree earrings.

30 Days of Outfits: Day 12

I cannot believe it’s already 2023! Happy New Year! I pulled together this adorable look together earlier in the week. I rang in the new year at home with my boyfriend this year. It was heavenly and we were asleep long before midnight. Sometimes sleep is the best thing you can do. Anyhow, for fashion’s sake I pulled together this look to share with y’all. I wore a satin black dress with this elastic belt I have in a couple of colors. The dress is super silky and not see through. Also lightweight enough to convert to a nightgown and sleep in. Elisabet Tang recently sent me these heels and I think they are the classiest pair of shoes! Love them! I added a fur jacket I’ve had since college and beautiful statement earrings. 30 Days of Outfits: Day 9

I hope you guys are having an incredible week so far. Can you believe 2022 is just days from being over? I’ll be doing some recaps shortly but wanted to share a quick 30 Days of Outfits post. I paired this gorgeous burgundy dress with matching burgundy pumps from Jenn Ardor. I love the lace sleeves on this form-fitting dress made out of the softest cotton. The sleeves are comfortable and this look is perfect for Valentine’s Day which will literally be right around the corner. I wore it with a pair of gold filagree hoops from Kendra Scott and threw on this cream coat from HM. Such a timeless and classic look! For today’s look of 30 Days of Outfits, I’m sharing a really cute girls’ night out or date night look. I paired this black lantern sleeve sweetheart neckline top (that I also have in pink see here) with a suede-like mini skirt. Platforms are really in right now and this is such an affordable option. I grabbed them in black but there are so many other colors. I added a feminine clutch and a pair of statement earrings.

Today I’m sharing a pretty laid-back look for Day 5 of 30 Days of Outfits! I love this pinstripe blouse paired with a cropped tank. I wore it a few days ago in this post with a skirt but wanted to show you another option for both tops. I love the detail on the sleeves of the overshirt. I added a pair of flared jeans and then wore the same pointy black pumps seen in yesterday’s post. When you are wearing flared pants look for a slender or pointy-toe shoe. I’ve had so much fun getting this new series of 30 Days of Outfits started! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Today I’m sharing the sweetest little pink sweater (similar by the same company here) and a flirty short skirt from Amazon. Yesterday I shared a really classic Fall look and today I’m going with more girly vibes. This time of year the temperatures in Texas swing from freezing to hot and humid. We typically have milder cold weather months. I added accessories with gold hardware like this adorable pink purse and these neutral studded flats. Finally, I wore a pair of really sweet floral earrings sent over by my friends at Amavia. I love their pieces so much!

Three Techniques to Get Out of a Mental Rut

The mind can be a battlefield. If you’ve ever experienced a panic attack you know firsthand what mental hell is like. In my late twenties and early thirties, I had panic attacks all the time. I mean on the daily and oftentimes multiple times a day. I would freeze and feel like I couldn’t drive my car. I didn’t want to go very many places for fear of getting overstimulated. Being extroverted this felt really difficult. I was torn between what my soul and body wanted to do every day. I needed to bring my body out of fight or flight but being stuck at home to do so in a calm environment was torture in itself because then I was alone with my thoughts. Over time I would get therapy and begin working on training my brain to focus on new things. I would learn different coping techniques that were not full proof but would oftentimes get the job done. It took work. Each day I’d start going down the same worry wormholes and I’d spend time and energy pulling myself out. I figured some of you might be dealing with this, too.
