Since the world decided to open back up finally, I plan on dressing to the nines from now until NYE! I’m wearing the most flattering retro dress with a navy and red floral print in these pictures. I was able to do a little scouring through my coats to locate something that would keep me warm and snuggly while I headed for a nice long walk. What is fall without a little plaid? I don’t know about you, but I legit wait for autumn to roll around this time of year so I can bust out all my cozy pieces. Plaid is such a classic print (actually one of the few prints you’ll find in my closet) and as soon as the cool weather hits I pull out all of my plaid pieces. I cannot tell you just how excited I am that it’s finally sweater season here in Texas. For those of you who live in more pleasing Fall climates, we do not experience a drop in temperatures until late October/early November. I’m all about rocking a dress that makes you look and feel good. This beauty (I actually wore in blue a while back) is one of the most flattering dresses I own. Period. It comes in a variety of colors and I fell in love with it so much I bought it in both tan and a pale blue. Sometimes all you need is a dress, pair of good heels (seen here for another work outfit), and a classic bag. When I put on a dress like this I literally feel like a million bucks and the best part is how it hides all of the food babies I ate for lunch! Fits true to size and would be perfect with boots, sneakers, or a pair of loafers for a more casual look. I’ll probably wear it to Thanksgiving it’s that comfortable! After having long hair for about a decade I decided it was time for something fresh. About a month and a half ago I started seeing an acupuncturist who kindly suggested that my headaches might improve if I shed a little hair. Having long hair was kind of my signature and at the time I was resistant to the change. Low and behold I would keep getting a little more and little more interested in the idea each day that passed by. Fast forward to now where I finally pulled the plug! I chopped off about 10lbs of hair and feel incredibly refreshed! I love that new look it brings and cannot wait to try different styles with it! As far as the headaches, well it immediately improved! Maybe I should have done this a little sooner…

Meet my favorite pair of jeans. I grabbed these babies two years ago and this still proves to be the jeans I reach for the most for almost any occasion. They have the perfect high-waist. They are just fitted enough so they don’t look frumpy. They have a relaxed boyfriend fit and are the perfect length for my small frame. They come in both petite and regular. I decided after loving them so much I’d grab them in a lighter wash and white (which are both on MAJOR sale). I also recently picked up these from Madewell to wear with heels for a more dressy occasion. After testing negative for Covid this week, I decided it was time to celebrate with the kiddo at dinner at one of our favorite Italian restaurants Paolo’s! Whether you work from home or have returned to the office, mental health concerns are still on the rise. Things are just different than they were pre COVID. There’s no denying we live in a different world than two years ago. However, no matter what shape things are in, we can still find ways to connect with our coworkers, create a space and environment we love working in, and enjoy our time doing the things that pay the bills. Although I am a work-from-home employee, in recent months my company has been pushing more face-to-face meetings and company events. Our home office employees have returned as have many of my friends. In a very uncertain time, I find it’s best to stay positive and realistic. Understanding that things are going to remain dynamic as we continue to navigate a pandemic and just take it one day at a time because nothing is set in stone. Here are a few ways I’m managing my sanity as I go back to see people face to face.

This season I’ve focused on building a new work wardrobe and picked up items that could easily transition from work to play. I love wearing cotton tops underneath a cute blazer during this time of year. Makes it easy to remove the jacket for lunch or dinner after a meeting. Pair with cap toe mules (which I grabbed in beige and brown below) for a polished look. A scarf immediately makes any outfit look pulled together. I love to tie around my bag of choice for the day. Lately, I’ve added more green into my wardrobe. I love the midi skirt below - really lightweight and looks great with over-the-knee boots and a sweater. This shirt dress was an amazing find. I’ve worn with and without a belt. It’s so comfy and great for work or play. Lastly, I added three new cardigans in brown, black, and this super-soft white one with a pretty collar.
