Everything I Wore on Our Colorado Trip
We just got back from an incredible trip over Thanksgiving and had the best time! I wanted to share a few of the outfits and activities with you in today’s post. Although a lot of our trip was business-oriented, we made time for some fun and relaxation. Toward the end of the trip, Marshall proposed! It was such a sweet surprise and I am so excited we are getting married. I’ll be sharing more about it in an upcoming blog post with the full story but wanted to round up a few looks in case you are traveling this season.
We decided to drive from College Station, TX to Denver over two days so my first few outfits were really comfy-oriented. I found that bodysuits are the perfect item to travel in since they offer support and convenience without having to layer underwear. I added cute leggings and cardigans over to stay cozy in the car. I also wore shoes that I could easily slip on and off for quick road stops. I’ve rounded all of my outfits and details for you to shop in this post! Read on…
For daytime, we spent a few days up on the mountain in Idaho Springs. I wore a cozy white unitard and winter boots with a knit wrap cardigan over the top. If there is one thing I recommend when traveling somewhere cold it’s to buy yourself a pair of boots that are made to withstand negative temperatures. I actually picked these up on my last trip almost two years ago to Colorado Springs. You can read about that trip in this post and this one where I went to the top of Pike’s Peak!
Idaho Springs is one of my favorite mountain towns and is about 30 minutes outside of Denver. We loved renting one of the private baths at Indian Hot Springs so much that we did it twice and grabbed the most delicious coffee with decadent whipped cream at Frothy’s. I made sure to bring this gorgeous Grace Karin red double-breasted long coat and a cute white pom pom beanie. I had all of the Holiday vibes!
Once we arrived we had a few evenings out for dinner. I wore over-the-knee boots and a pair of black stiletto boots to stay warm. The weather was in the low 30s after dark. We ate at a few places like Lazy Dog and Sunflower Thai. Highly recommend both restaurants. I brought a few pieces from Chicwish like this holiday red bow embellished cardigan and this gorgeous rose-colored knit overcoat.
For the hot springs, I wore a leopard print bikini that was super cheeky and these new gold chain slides that came in right before the trip. We loved getting to spend time dipping in and out of the mineral water fed by natural hot springs before returning down the mountain for dinner. One of the other adorable towns I recommend visiting is Lafayette. They have the cutest bookstore and coffee shop where I spent a few hours getting some work done while Marshall was out visiting businesses for Certain Pay with our new Market Director Jason. I haven’t shared a ton about what he does on the blog, but owns a credit card processing company and we were visiting the city to spend time strategizing with one of our dear friends and new team leaders Jason. While the guys were out visiting clients, I spent time catching up on things for the blog and getting a little relaxation time in.
Finally, the last place I thought I’d share about was the incredible coffee shop and roastery in downtown Dever called Novo Coffee. This one really stood out to me because they roast their own beans and make a delicious treat called the Rosemary Rumble. Highly recommend their Everything puff pastry which is like an Everything bagel and puff pastry combined. The whole week was amazing and we even got to bring our pups to enjoy the trip!
