Spring Essentials Every Girl Needs
Although it’s a whopping 48 degrees today, I’m still over here dreaming of warm sunshine filled days. We’ve had a few in the month of February and it’s got me itching for all things sunny. Well, we can at least start preparing for more Spring like days and today I’m giving you guys the low down on five essentials every girl needs this Spring.
Spring Essential 1: The Perfect Sun Hat
Not just pretty, but also practical a sun hat can do wonders during the bright months of Spring and Summer. They keep all of those unwanted wrinkles from developing due to sun rays and UV light on top of your sunscreen. While I opt for a wide brimmed boater as my go to for a sunny day, there are so many options to choose from here. Try a big floppy sun hat or if you prefer a panama hat.
Spring Essential 2: A block heel sandal
The particular shoe I’m wearing is from three years ago by LC Lauren Conrad. This line exclusively at Kohl’s has been a favorite of mine for years. There is so much quality and uniqueness of each piece she designs. I am amazed this pair of shoes is still in such good condition. There are still the version available and they are so incredibly comfortable! A block heeled sandal is great for those outdoor BBQ picnics, outdoor weddings (see this post for a few ideas on what to wear to a Spring wedding this year) and walking on uneven terrain. They can withstand dirt paths, gravel or grass. All a win in my book!
Spring Essential 3: A showstopping dress
Invest in at least one classic and perfectly fitted dress every season. when you are looking for one, flip it inside out and look at the craftsmanship. The best quality dresses have three things in common: fit, fabric and construction. You’ll notice on higher valued items they have additional lining a cheaply made dress doesn’t and the seams will be surged instead of pressed and bound. The better construction a dress has, the better the fabric falls and the fit is more tailored. Right now I can’t get enough of Alexis as a dress line. Although they run a little pricey you can find exceptional discounts during holiday sales and at the end of the season. I assure you their dresses do not disappoint.
Spring Essential 4: A packable bag suited for day trips and travels
This foldable and easy to pack bag is my new favorite! It’s one of those items I’ve had an eye on for about a year and decided this was the season for the classic pliage Longchamp purse. It folds up so neatly for travel. You can carry it as a tote or pack it in a smaller bag for shopping later. It’s also made out of a durable nylon and easy to clean. I love blue so naturally I gravitated to this beautiful cornflower blue color but there are so many options for more neutral shades if that’s your thing!
Spring Essential 5: New pair of shades
Sunglasses are a staple for Texas living peeps. You just have to have a pair to withstand endless 14 hour sunny days. I love this retro inspired pair with white details (on sale for under $50!). Try switching up your usual style and opt for a pair of white rimmed or tortoise shell sunnies. You can also look at other shapes and swap out your aviators for a pair of cat-eye sunglasses. Have fun with them and protect your eyes at the same time!

Rounding up a few of my outfits recently. I love wearing shades of pink and thought it would be fun to share them all in one post with you guys. Here are 10 outfits to inspire you to wear this adorable color!
When I find a piece of jewelry I love I usually wear it on repeat. Recently I came across this pair of tear-drop earrings with Bottega vibes and I cannot seem to take them off for anything but to go to sleep. They’ve been worn to meetings, casual Saturdays, photoshoots and even the gym. They seem to go with everything and because they are 14k gold-plated, they don’t seem to irritate my ears. I have really sensitive skin and these babies really do the trick.
This past year has amounted to an extreme amount of growth. Almost a year ago, I made the decision to go back to one-on-one counseling to sort out some stuff that was surfacing emotionally in my life. It was so hard, but I finally feel like I’m on the upswing and things are more manageable. It’s easy to make excuses in our lives for behaviors we did when we were not at our best. It’s also really easy to blame others for the things that went wrong. Ultimately, accepting full responsibility for my life has given me freedom and inner power I did not know a few years ago. I’m going to share with you today 10 Things I Learned this Year in hopes of inspiring you to rise above your current state of being into a higher version of yourself.
Last weekend we met in Salado, Texas at Greenfield Coffee to catch up and shoot these incredible dresses from friends at Wneedu on Amazon. They sent us each a dress to share with you! We both picked out our colors to fit our own personalities. I chose a bold leopard colorway and Tiffany went with a beautiful shade of deep mauve. Great style is available for everyone. No matter what your age or body type you have when you walk with confidence in your own skin a new sense of style seems to follow. That’s one of the things I love about our conversations!
Wow! What a weekend! After taking this last year to really ground myself and work on transformation from the inside, I finally made it out for the Laura Ashley 70th Anniversary Event with Growing Up Texas! It was so incredible to meet Jennifer and Mike who restored a vintage Grand Station with Laura Ashley printed fabrics. The event was hosted at one of my favorite local hotels, The Stella and catered by Campfire Grill. The whole experience was out of a storybook and unfolded beautifully as we mixed and mingled on Saturday afternoon.
I cannot believe this is actually happening! This past month Three Heel Clicks released a few apparel items and now we have a collab with What’s the Buzz Specialty Coffee located in College Station, TX. We’ve teamed up to bring you the most incredible high-quality coffee. This is an artwork in a cup and tastes incredible. I’ll be sharing so much more about the process of coffee and various methods of brewing a cup so make sure you subscribe to my newsletter.
Both Mother’s Day and Graduation Seasons are coming up! I felt like now is the perfect time to share a few gift ideas of all price points. Everything on this list is tried and true in my own home. Check out the You Can Do Hard Things Sweatshirt in Cropped and Comfy Oversized. Lightweight enough for even the hottest and most humid Texas days. New We Rise Together Coffee Mug launch this Saturday and are under $20. Hope you find the perfect gift for your mom or grad here and make sure you tag #threeheelclicks when you grab one of the items!
It may be February and I’m a minute late to the game but better late than never. As I realize the Earth’s energy is going to keep speeding up I’ve given myself so much more grace for emotions to roll in and out. For the first time in most of my life I am allowing every emotion to surface, be categorized and processed and then released. It hasn’t been an easy process but it is leading me to more vitality.
If I’m not doing at least the above, then it’s hard for me to be focused. I clean up my environment and raise my vibes. It’s not always easy and sometimes it takes reminders and alarms on my phone to get all the things done. The truth is, we are all human and we need a little help sometimes. That’s exactly why I created Glow Up. It’s a two-day course that will help you get a 60-day plan together. I show you how to do all of the above in a way that works for you!
Today I’m sharing a pretty laid-back look for Day 5 of 30 Days of Outfits! I love this pinstripe blouse paired with a cropped tank. I wore it a few days ago in this post with a skirt but wanted to show you another option for both tops. I love the detail on the sleeves of the overshirt. I added a pair of flared jeans and then wore the same pointy black pumps seen in yesterday’s post. When you are wearing flared pants look for a slender or pointy-toe shoe. It elongates the legs and gives it a chic feel! Finally, I added my favorite baguette from Ewelyni (use code THREEHEELCLICKS50 for 50% off your first order).
Hello, Day 3 of 30 Days of Outfits! In case you missed Day 1 and Day 2, you can check them out here and here. I am so excited to share with you today’s look. It’s a modern take on classic pieces. Every girl should have a mini skirt that goes with everything. This is that skirt! I have worn it so many times this Fall. It’s seriously one of my most used items! I paired it with an asymmetrical cropped tank. Then, layered this elegant pinstripe blouse over the top. It’s an effortless piece that pulls the whole look together. The best part is that this shirt can be worn so many different ways! It layers under blazers so beautifully. I added classic black patent pumps and my favorite black bag for this season. You can shop the look here!
I’ve had so much fun getting this new series of 30 Days of Outfits started! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Today I’m sharing the sweetest little pink sweater (similar by the same company here) and a flirty short skirt from Amazon. Yesterday I shared a really classic Fall look and today I’m going with more girly vibes. This time of year the temperatures in Texas swing from freezing to hot and humid. We typically have milder cold weather months. I added accessories with gold hardware like this adorable pink purse and these neutral studded flats. Finally, I wore a pair of really sweet floral earrings sent over by my friends at Amavia. I love their pieces so much!
I cannot believe it’s been a full year since I partnered with Sarah Flint! I am so honored to be a part of the Ambassador team! Not only has Sarah Flint created a brand that has incredible quality, craftsmanship, and direct-to-you prices - the brand is female-owned and empowers women every day to feel luxurious. I have several pairs of Sarah Flint heels, pumps, sandals, and shoes because they are so incredibly comfortable. The Sacchetto Flats are my all-time favorite flat for comfort and style
When this blog was initially created, I set out to share the magic that happened in my life on a daily basis. I had no idea at the blog would become my life story a decade later. I seek every single day to find magical moments. Life is busy. There’s so much happening. Slowing down in the mornings and evenings has given me the ability to discover more magic. Sometimes it’s how the sky lights up at sunset on a walk with the cool breeze blowing across the grass. Sometimes it’s the light wind rustling in trees and the way they look like pieces of lace overlapping one another against a blue background. Sometimes it’s the giggles of my daughter or the jokes we make on our drives together. Seeking magic every day is what makes life sweeter. Here are a few ways to make each day special…
A few weeks ago, I announced on my Facebook page that I would be opening a dialogue about insights into effective relationships. As I currently write this I want you to know this is meant to be a dialogue between us. A place where you can feel free to comment openly about your own insights into relationships. Things you’ve learned from failures and successes. Please reach out below or by commenting on any of my social media platforms - my handle is @threeheelclicks. Let’s dive into today’s topic on communication strategies. The root of so many disagreements, alienation, tension, and isolation begins with a misfiring of communication. As I continue to grow and develop in my interactions with people, how I communicate is a priority and responsibility if I am seeking healthy connections. Here are three strategies you can immediately implement for better communication.
If there’s one city you know you will be worn out when you leave it, it’s Las Vegas, Nevada. Oh my goodness! I haven’t been there in a couple of years and let me tell you… this thirty-eight-year-old came back wiped out. The funny part is I just got back from round two and haven’t posted about either trip.
Over the past two months, I attended a couple of conferences. I was lucky enough to get a little time while I was out there to grab dinner and sightseeing. I had amazing lunch at Mon Ami Gabi and dinner at the Cafe Americano in the Paris. I stayed at the MGM Signature Grand which had suites for rooms and a giant jacuzzi tub in which I added the most amazing bath tea bag and fuzzies to it from the adorable shop downstairs.
Yesterday was Earth Day so I made sure to get out for a late evening walk before heading to hibachi with a group of my friends. I grabbed this adorable set from Target in the most beautiful tangerine color along with the most comfortable headband and earrings to add a pop of blue. Target has the cutest stuff in right now! I recently grabbed these Sarah Flint Grear sandals that just launched in a beautiful orange for summer! You can save $50 off your next pair of Sarah Flint shoes when you shop using my link. I love love love the craftsmanship in these Amalfi made sandals. Each pair is handcrafted in Italy by artisans. The soft ties do not rub blisters and the leather sole makes them so comfortable to walk in all day. To finish off the entire look I added a vintage straw bag for the daytime and swapped it out with a white satchel for the evening. I hope you guys are having the most amazing weekend. You can shop all my favorite tangerine and blue finds below!
I have to tell you this time of year is always so exciting but equally tough with a constant rotation of events! Showers are no exception. Whether you are attending a baby or bridal shower there’s no lack of things to do that require a lovely dress. A new to me brand that I’ve been loving these past few months is Shoshanna. Each piece is made with the most beautiful fabric and fits like a glove! I love this adorable daisy printed dress worn in today’s post. I paired it with my sky-high Jay 100 Pump Sarah Flint heels and a statement necklace to bring out the turquoise in the dress. You can save $50 when you use my link. One of the good things about having a few dresses on hand is being able to grab and go quickly without a lot of thinking. Swap out shoes and accessories depending on the season and occasion. I could easily wear this same dress with a pair of sandals and a straw bag instead. You can shop a bunch of my favorites Spring items below.
It’s finally Spring and I’m so happy about it! We’ve had such pretty weather over this past weekend it really got me excited about the next few weeks. On top of the sunshine, early Spring wildflowers are beginning to bloom. I decided it was time to put together a Spring capsule wardrobe. I’ve recently picked up a few basics and neutrals from Amazon that I wanted to share with you! Each piece fits like a glove and is made with incredible quality. Check out all my favorite finds below!
You have no idea how happy I am that it’s Spring! The next six months are my favorite part of the year. I live for swimsuit weather, and we are so lucky to get warm weather early here in Texas! Since we are officially in the spring season I am busting out all things white in my closet. I recently picked up these incredible pants from Target (I’m wearing a kids 14-16 an XL which is an XS in adults). If you normally wear a medium and have shorter legs you could easily wear the next size up! They are the best pants. They have a built-in lining and they are the most breathable cotton. I paired them with a favorite top I grabbed recently from Hill House home on major sale and my new white Senreve bag. I bought this back as a celebration of being alcohol-free for 3 years! You have to celebrate life victories! To add a few finishing touches I grabbed a pair of the most comfortable platform sandals and a cardigan for chilly air conditioning or evenings.
I am so glad it’s finally Spring! The past few months have been incredible, but nothing is better than fresh blooming flowers and a beautiful breezy cool night. I love this time of year so much! During the daytime in Texas the temperatures rise enough most days so you can get away with a dress and sandals. Come nightfall, you’ll need a lightweight jacket or white blazer to stay warm. I have been eyeing this one from The Drop that’s under $80! I already own it in tan and think the white will be perfect for this time of year! You can wear it over dresses or layer over a button-up with jeans or shorts. It’s one of the most versatile options!
It’s that time of year! Finally, Texas bluebonnet season. If you’ve never been to Texas during this time of year then it’s time for you to plan your next trip! In late March and early Spring, the entire state becomes alive with wildflowers. Specifically, the Texas Bluebonnet which is our state flower. For years, my family flocked to find the best fields for photographs. It’s perfect for bridal pictures, senior college or high school pictures, family portraits, and of course, blog photos! I decided to round up a list of some of the top locations to find these bluebonnet fields!
Since we all finally made it to Spring, I am pulling out all the best florals! I love the landscape this time of year in Texas with all of the wildflowers and infamous Bluebonnets are in bloom. I usually transfer that inspiration over into my wardrobe. From statement earrings in the shape of flowers to embellished handbags, you can add a touch of florals without being overkill. The dress I featured below is Hunter Bell NYC. It’s made of the thinnest (without being see-through) material that is perfect for layering this time of year. I actually wore this to a women’s luncheon and received a ton of compliments on it. I grabbed this old clutch I love and my favorite classic Sarah Flint pumps (save $50 here)! The look was effortless and glam at the same time! I put together a list below of some of my favorite floral pieces you can shop for! The price points start at under $50 and also include luxury options!
I’m on a yellow kick lately. There’s something so bright and cheerful about daffodil and marigold shades of yellow I’ve had it on constant rotation. I recently share this yellow maxi dress and this adorable top with you guys! Today’s it’s all about the gorgeous cabana stripes on this Caroline Constas top. Statement tops are perfect for resort wear styles and vacation. This same top would look adorable with a midi or maxi skirt, a pair of skinny jeans or linen pants. Dressed up or dressed down it’s dramatic and flattering. I decided to wear it with a pair of cropped pants I picked up from Amazon the Drop and pops of white accessories. Although this top is more of an investment piece, I rounded up a few under $100 below for you to shop! To top things off I added a little gold jewelry and a bright yellow satchel I’ve had for years!
If you are looking for your next Texas vacation then you need to check out Port Aransas! Nestled on the Texas Gulf Coast between Galveston and N Padre Island is the charming island and beach town called Port Aransas. Filled with pastel shops, stores, and restaurants this makes the perfect family vacation! I spent a couple of days here and put together a weekend guide for you guys! From Instagram spots to a restaurant that has presidential history, here is a guide to spending the weekend in Port Aransas and the neighboring city Corpus Christi.
I recently discovered the label La Maison Talulah and let me tell you I couldn’t be happier. The brand designs the most feminine dresses with the most delicate of details like the button-down bodice and tiered ruffle skirted on this dress. You probably remember this short floral dress I wore recently here and here. That one has the most beautiful cut and ruffles on the shoulders and sleeves. The fabric of both dresses was also impressive. Such quality! If you are looking for a few options at lower price points check out the shopping list below! I included a few from Amazon that is under $50!
Let’s chat about all things Spring now. Over the next few weeks, I begin rotating out all of my cold weather clothes and put my Spring things front and center. I usually gravitate to a few color palettes - nudes with whites, pastels, and cherry red. Depending on my mood, I’ll dress accordingly. Having a few classic accessories like a basket bag, gold jewelry, and scarves make endless options for your favorite pieces. The switch of a bag and the addition of earrings can make any outfit come to life. Also, a pretty statement necklace pops on web meetings! I love being able to show up in real life or on camera with a little color on. It draws people’s eyes to pay better attention to what I’m saying. Below are over 100 spring accessories for you to shop! Let me know which ones are your favorites in the comments!
I shared a little last week in this post about my trip to South Padre Island. This is the perfect Spring Break location if you are looking for a tropical paradise in Texas. The water is incredible, the beaches are soft with rolling sand dunes and the island is filled with turtles, birds, dolphins, and other wildlife. It’s a welcomed oasis in South Texas. While I was on the island I drove over the bridge to Port Isabel where one of the most beautiful lighthouses on the gulf coast resides. The lighthouse sits in the middle of Port Isabel’s town square with a multitude of shops and restaurants. The lighthouse is open to tour so make sure you check their website for hours and cost for admission. Since I knew I’d be walking a lot that day I pulled out my favorite pair of flats!
Hope you had a lovely weekend! I am prepping for a business trip and spending the weekend with my daughter and getting ready for travel. I also had such a good time at a luncheon and putting with friends at Bigshot Golf here in town. If you haven’t been over there, I highly recommend it! It was a blast! I planned to wear this dress that evening, but temperatures dropped quickly, and I ended up changing into jeans and a sweater. This shirt dress has the prettiest Madrid plaid print. Soft colors and delicate embroidery make this a really special piece. I’ve been wearing shirt dresses often lately - see this post and this post. They are so easy to throw on and look flattering on most body types. Because they are tied at the waist, it creates a natural hourglass shape. Plus, having a fuller skirt allows you to move freely without feeling like you are going to flash someone. Yes, you can even sit criss-cross legged on the ground when you pick a long enough skirt. Although the one I’m wearing is an investment piece, you can easily grab other options below! I rounded up a ton of them starting at $35. Also, don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter and win a free Younique MOODSTRUCK EPIC 4D Mascara!
Living in one of the hottest states in the US, sundresses have become my go-to for the Spring and Summer seasons. They are easy to style and require just adding a few accessories for a quick grab-and-go option. They pack nicely for trips and can be layered over swimwear or worn with strappy sandals for dinner. They also are super comfortable on hot days instead of having shorts ride up and stick to a hot car seat. There are so many cute styles to choose from like a pretty milkmaid dress like this one. Or you can opt for a dress that has a beautiful neckline and a side slit with just the right amount of leg. If you are looking for something more modest, try this pretty floral dress that hits at the perfect midi length. You can shop tons of other options below!
